GIFT OF THE GIVERS FOUNDATION

Gift of the Givers is the largest disaster response NGO of African origin on the African continent. They deliver lifesaving aid in the form of Search and Rescue teams, medical personnel, medical equipment, medical supplies, medicines, vaccines, anti-malarial medication, high energy and protein supplements, food and water to millions of people in 42 countries, South Africa included.

There are 21 categories of projects which include bursaries, agricultural self sustainability, water provision, counselling and life skills services, entrepreneurship and job creation, establishment of primary health care clinics and medical support to hospitals, winter warmth and supply of new clothing and shoes, sports development, feeding schemes and food parcel distribution, supply of household and personal hygiene packs, educational support and toy distribution, provision of housing, care of the physically and mentally challenged, orphans and the elderly as some of our diverse activities.

Their motto is simple: "Best among People are those who benefit Mankind," They serve ALL people irrespective of race, religion, culture, colour, political affiliation or geographical location, unconditionally.

The DAVID SHELDRICK WILD LIFE TRUST – ELEPHANT ORPHAN FOSTERING PROGRAMME.

The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust embraces all measures that complement the conservation, preservation and protection of wildlife. These include anti-poaching, safe guarding the natural environment, enhancing community awareness, addressing animal welfare issues, providing veterinary assistance to animals in need, rescuing and hand rearing elephant and rhino orphans, along with other species that can ultimately enjoy a quality of life in wild terms when grown.

Over 150 infant elephants have been raised and effectively reintegrated back into the wild herds of Tsavo, - where many healthy wild-born calves have emerged from former-orphaned elephants raised in the care of The David Sheldrick Trust
